The Jove Linux cluster is primarily located in the "Circus," Dunham Lab room 107.  There are six Dell Precision 340 workstations and four Dell Dimension machines.  In the Becton/Watson machine room (CO-50) there is a compute server called Jove. The system is highly scalable for future growth.

Accounts

In general, Engineering and Applied Physics faculty, majors and graduate students are eligible for a Linux account. To apply, please visit our Accounts Page and use our Linux Registration Form. 

Policies

Users must observe the University Appropriate Use Policy at all times.  We recommend that all users read this document.

Disk Quota (initial) 100 MB 200 MB
Simultaneous Nodes in use 1 up to 11
Hours of CPU per week up to 10 unlimited
Long Jobs (over 6 hours of CPU) not allowed consult Eng. IT office
Annual Charge for sponsored accounts. (Exceptions may be made upon special application.) $200 $400
Annual Expiration/renewal date August 1 August 1

Undergraduates and first-year graduate students are offered free "unsponsored" accounts in the "standard" category.  Teaching faculty and TA's also qualify for these accounts.
